Sales Tax Relief Can Fight Inflation
- Inflation is biting everyone hard. But lower socioeconomic levels and those on fixed incomes are impacted the most. For them, just meeting the bottom level of physiological needs is a struggle.
- Texas is one of few states that can help its citizens in this struggle. The Texas Comptroller reports over and over the Texas Treasury is burgeoning with surpluses. Foremost, governments do not have surpluses only over burdened taxpayers. As a Comptroller candidate in the primary in February, I put forth that Texans deserved a sales tax cut. The surpluses have only gotten bigger.
- A sales tax cut benefits ALL Texans. It can relieve some of the sting of this horrific bad policy induced inflation cycle.
- A sales tax cut helps those on fixed incomes.
- The small business owner gets some relief on the consumables they pay sales tax on.
- It can drive large ticket item purchases giving economic stimulus.
- It just takes a Governor with bold leadership looking out for Texas Taxpayers
- Texans deserve good governance!
